Dipesh Dipu has work experience of about 16 years in strategic consulting and financial advisory in infrastructure, energy and resources sectors. He has extensive experience in business planning, strategy formulation, Public Private Partnership, mergers and acquisitions, project financing and project implementation. He has worked on assignments in countries like India, Bangladesh, Kenya, Indonesia, Zambia, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Singapore, Kuwait, UAE, UK, USA and Sri Lanka.
He has worked on public policy advisory for government and quasi-government agencies and industry bodies and helped them in assessment of impacts of public policy options in mineral and energy sectors. He has also worked on assignments with private and multi-national companies on risk assessment and mitigation strategies for policy initiatives of governments in resources sectors in India.
Apart from his consulting work, Dipesh has been involved with training and capacity building programmes. He has developed and delivered courses in strategic management, project financing, foreign acquisitions, valuation of businesses and assets, and public private partnerships in infrastructure. He has delivered workshops on performance improvement in resources sectors in India and Singapore. He worked as associate professor with Administrative Staff College of India on a short contract and delivered lectures on strategic finance, pursuit of excellence, economic assessment of PPP projects and such other subjects.
Dipesh writes a fortnightly column for News Corp VC Circle online platform that caters to finance and investment community in India. The column is titled “Dip & Strike” and so far, he has written 13 articles. Apart from this, he also writes frequently for various newspapers and magazines, such as the Business Standard, the Economic Times, the Financial Express and other leading publications in India. He is also frequently invited for conferences and seminars conducted by several industry associations and think-tanks in India.
Dipesh works as a partner with a boutique management consulting firm, Jenissi Management Consultants, based in India. Prior to this entrepreneurial venture, he had worked as Director in strategy and operations consulting practice of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt Ltd; as CEO of Maamba Collieries Ltd, a power generation and coal mining company in Zambia; and as Principal Consultant for energy, utilities and mining practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers Pvt Ltd.
Dipesh holds a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad and a master’s diploma in business management and finance from ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad, India. He is also pursuing his doctoral degree program in strategic management from XLRI Jamshedpur.
