Dr Samita Bhattacharjee is a senior faculty at the Tata Steel Management Development Centre. She conducts training and coaching programs in the area of transformational leadership based on neuroscience, emotional intelligence and spirituality. Her purpose is to ignite and unlock the emotional power or the right brain power of the leaders and help them to develop a blueprint of their journey to success, growth, meaning, fulfilment, peace, joy and gratitude.
Samita holds a doctoral degree in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics from IIT, Kanpur. She joined Tata Steel in 1997, after completing postdoctoral research in Molecular Dynamics from the Cavendish Labs, University of Cambridge, UK. From 2001 till 2003, she took sabbatical to conduct further research in the University of Nittingham, UK. During this period Samita got the opportunity to learn about the neuroscience of human behaviour.
Over past 10 years the insight from neuroscience, emotional intelligence and spirituality has been the foundation of her research and reflection in the area of transformational leadership in Tata Steel Europe, Netherlands. Based on the results of her experiments in Tata Steel Europe, Samita has developed the whole brain leadership program which she has launched successfully on her return to Tata Steel Ltd, Jamshedpur in September 2018.
She has authored several scientific and non-scientific publications. She enjoys nature walk, meditation, theatre, traveling and reading. She is a life member of Association of British Scholar, Jamshedpur Chapter. She was the deputy Secretary of ABS Jamshedpur chapter from 2003 till 2005 and the secretary from 2005 till 2009.
