Capability Development invites applications for " Work From Home " Prashikshan ( Unpaid Internship ) 2020
at Tata Steel

General Information Even during these unprecedented times of COVID-19, Tata Steel aims to engage students and impart training by offering " Work From Home " Unpaid Internship through projects which can be pursued from home (from the respective locations where the candidates are residing). Students are requested not to report in person at Capability Development department or our operating locations for internship. It is Unpaid Internship as Tata Steel does not pay any stipend.
Eligibility Eligibility- Students sponsored by Tata Steel employees(In Service,ESS,Retired) :
  • Wards
  • Other than Wards
Minimum Educational Qualification
Diploma/Graduate Engineering The applicant should have passed the 2nd semester of the 3-year Diploma or 4-year of Engineering Degree Course from an AICTE/UGC approved institute in any of the following disciplines:

Mechanical / Production / Mechatronics/ Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation /Electronics & Communication Engineering(ECE)/Electrical &Electronics Engineering(EEE)/ Metallurgy / Mining / IT/ Computer Science(CS)
BBA/BCA/B Com/BA Economics/LLB/Others The applicant should have passed the 4th semester of
BCA/BBA/BCom/LLB/BA Economics Degree Course
MBA/MCA/LLM/M Com/MA Economics The applicant should have passed the 2nd semester of
MBA/MCA/MA Economics Degree Course
Mode of Training During the training period, the trainee will work on a project given by his/her respective Guide in the department.

To impart comprehensive training of high quality, Tata Steel recommends that the trainees take up E-learning modules. Opting for these E-learning modules will be optional for Employee Wards but will be mandatory for candidates falling in ‘Other than Wards’ category.

E-learning modules will be assigned to the candidates once payment is confirmed, and the courses will remain valid till two months from the date of assignment.

The total fee for E-Learning modules will be Rs 5,000 + GST (as applicable). Payment to be made through online payment gateway option while filling the application form on Tata Prashikshan website.

* Please note that once candidates complete the E-learning modules, they will receive an E-learning certificate from Tata Steel.
Duration of Training & Reporting
  • The training duration will be from 4 weeks to a maximum of 8 weeks.
  • Training will commence from 1st July, 2020.
Certification process On completion of the training period, the trainee will have to submit the Project Completion Report to his/her respective guides with a cc to sumit.dandapat@tatasteel.com Once it is approved by the respective guide, two certificates will be issued to the trainee within 48 hours, as follows:
  • Vocational Training (VT) certificate
  • E-learning certificate (E-learning is not linked with the VT project report)
Procedure to Apply A candidate will need two current employees from Tata Steel, a Sponsor and a Project Guide. It may be noted that the Sponsor employee can become the Project Guide if required.

The responsibility of selecting the project guide & project lies with the trainee & sponsor and not with the Capability Development department.

Candidate must provide all the required details while registering online, including sponsor and project guide details. Submission of photograph and Aadhar card copy is mandatory while filling the application form but Bonafide Certificate from College is optional.
